Toward the End of WWII he was able to get some damaged airplane noses that were made of lucite.  During that time period leather and suede were in scarce supply so this was a perfect solution.  He designed a lucite jewelry box and what is exciting he brought it to the buyers at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. There are no cracks, odor, and only light scratches on the bottom of the bag.  The handle has a lot of wear, or say we say age appropriate patina (see photograph 7\u0026amp;8).  It does blend in nicely though because of the colors of the handbag.
