The straps are long enough that you could wear it on the shoulder, but I think it is best worn over the arm on held to show off the super chic styling of this mid century gem. I believe it to be from the 50's, and the amount of wear to it is less than you would think: the goldtone hardware shows some wear, and the cinch at the top of the straps is just the slightest bit flattened where it rubbed on the arm or shoulder.
