The stars themselves are each about 2” across. The foil on one side is smooth and on the other side is a little crinkled. They hang from a “hook” of coiled paper that is each about 2 ½” long. So the combined star and hanger makes the total size of 4 ½” long.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe foil is slightly nicked, or a little torn, on most of them, but none badly. 2 of the stars have rips, although the star is still intact—the rip on one of the stars is may ½” long and on the other, it’s less than ¼”. All of the hangers are intact. I would characterize them as fragile but still quite usable.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI don’t know their precise age. They remind me of other foil-covered paper ornaments that I’ve seen that were made in Japan in the 1950s, but I’m not sure if that’s their origin.
