His Mother was a Costume Designer, and his Father was a Well-Known Figure in the Textile Industry who started the Malcolm Starr Clothing Company in the 1940's in New York City.  He took over the business in 1969 when his Father died and operated it until 1976.  Even members of the Royal Family in Japan wore his Garments.  It used to be that at least 30% of the women in an Elite Country Club were Wearing his Dresses.
