The inside is pretty pristine, the corner piping is all intact, and the leather is beautifully soft and has taken on the sheen that vintage leather takes on. The handles have darkened from use over the years and have creased spots. The kiss lock pocket edge has a bit of separation (this is where people normally just take the edging off), there are a couple of popped stitches along the top edge, and there is some fabulous vintage patina all over., they're part of the bags' history, and not too visually distracting. This bag was d-r-y dry when I got it, so after cleaning it with saddle soap I gave it a deep conditioning, slowly dried it, polished the brass, and conditioned it again.  The second deep conditioning did the trick and brought back the gorgeous color of the leather.
